The difference between winning basketball players and losing basketball players is very simple to understand. People with a losing track record tend to look at losing as a destination. Winners tend to lose as well though, but winners tend to break down the loss as a lesson and not an end all to be all type of thing.
People who succeed more times than not have a profoundly different way of bouncing back from a “so called” loss. They tend to not linger on the moment. They take what they need from the situation and keep it moving. It’s sorta like advice. Take what you need out of what the other person is saying and leave the rest alone.
In basketball it is self evident that the hoopers who are confident in not only their basketball skills, but also in who they are as humans tend to perform better. I have seen games decided literally by peoples emotions and the type of energy that is sent out. If you go into anything in life(including basketball) with an attitude of defeat before trying then you are already defeated. Some of my friends ask, How do you stay level headed and strong through the game(and the game of life)? I simply say its not over until its over. Ask Tracy Mcgrady.
You cannot become a victor if you are a victim. There are a good portion of us that tend to live life from a state of being victimized. Get up and do something about the situation that you do not like. In the beginning making this mindset change a habit is tough. News flash, everything is tough in the beginning. Build faith in yourself by creating a track record of being in a positive champion like mindset. So what you missed six shots and you haven’t had a good game. Know that if you stay in a champion mindset that events in the game will curl in your favor.
Simply put winners make the winning mentality a habit and people who have a long track record of losing don’t. Stand your ground and be powerful. How do you look at yourself? Are you a winner or a loser in your mind?
Your a spiritual hooper and all spiritual hoopers are winners.
